Paksiw na Pata



Ingredients:

  • 1 kg pork hock/pata
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can pineapple chunks/slice
  • 5 pcs bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 broth cube/seasoning mix
  • 5 tbsp Mang Tomas sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • salt to taste

Cooking Procedure:
  1. In a large pan, combine pork, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, garlic, bay leaves, black pepper, seasoning mix and water.
  2. Heat the pan and simmer for 1.5 hours. Add water if necessary.
  3. Add the pineapple slices with the syrup. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust according to your taste by adding salt, sugar or vinegar.
  5. Thicken the sauce by adding 5 tbsp of Mang Tomas sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
